Resource Description

Need a spring themed activity to practice ordinal numbers in words that will be fun and engaging? This no prep digital Boom Cards math activity is perfect for developing number sense and ordinal numbers from first to fifth/last! Your kiddos will have so much fun practising their ordinal number names as they watch these cute insects, bugs and other small creatures racing each other across the screen!

This number sense activity can be used for distance or hybrid learning – or face to face teaching!

How this Ordinal Numbers Activity works:

On each card, the students are shown 5 bugs racing across the screen.
They are asked which of the bugs came first, second, third, fourth, fifth or last.

This deck contains Once-off GIFs (GIFs that finish their animations and then remain static). If you wish to play the deck again after completing it, using the “Play Again” button will not reload the GIFs, so their animations will still be finished. If you are using a BROWSER, you can simply RELOAD THE PAGE, and the GIFs should work again. If you are using the BOOM CARDS APP, you need to EXIT COMPLETELY (not just minimize) AND THEN REOPEN THE APP in order to reload the GIFs.

This fun Number Sense Activity includes:

20 Boom Cards
Boom Cards are self-checking and students get instant feedback!
If students are correct they hear a “ding” sound and can proceed to the next card to receive the next instruction.
If students are incorrect they hear “whoops”. They will need to try again, or “Give up” to move to the next card.
