Resource Description

The “Bunny Hop” letter formation bundle was created by an occupational therapist to help children practice the formation of the letters, which are guided by the formation of the “bunny hop” pattern. It involves letters formed by a downward and upward movement of the pencil and which start in the same position or orientation.

To prevent letter confusion and reversals, letters must always start in the right place and formed correctly. When children learn to form their letters in a fun, multi-sensory way, the unnecessary reversal of letters can be reduced or avoided. Appropriate letter formation supports better spacing of written work. This resource is often used in conjunction with the Funky Monkey letter formation program.

This bundle includes a classroom poster, animated PowerPoint presentation, a short video explanation, playdough mats, graded worksheets and perceptual and auditory activities for use in the classroom, at home or during therapy. Guidelines for use are included.
This resource is available in English and Afrikaans.
